One Big Dead End brings awareness to the facilitation and reinforcement of harmful beliefs such as racism, xenophobia, and violence that cause political divide within suburbia on Long Island, New York.
The OBDEND dynamic branding campaign aims to flip the narrative by making hateful individuals recognize their oppressive and fear mongering tactics on marginal groups in the community.
The OBDEND website was designed to reverse the role of the fear far right individuals instill in people. Mimicking a traditional board game, the user is prompted to engage with a story that mirrors real events that occurred on Long Island.
Flags, along with vertical signage, were used to advertise the campaign and website.
Mailers were sent to community residents containing info about the accompanying exhibit, and where to find it.
A 3D model shows an installation at a popular park on Long Island. Attendants are prompted to sit on the ‘O’ of the logo and have conversations as it spins. The spinning represents the seemingly everlasting cycle of beliefs, while the active conversations could potentially break them.
